FAQs

We’ve compiled answers to some of the most frequently asked therapy questions. If you have others, please use contact us.

  • Do you accept insurance? Which insurance plans are accepted?

Yes, we accept many insurance plans for therapy. Our therapists are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Cigna, and Aetna plans. We can check your insurance benefits before you start therapy to help you understand your costs. If we’re not in-network with your insurance, we’ll provide a statement for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

  • Do you offer reduced or sliding scale rates?

Yes! Generation Mend offers sliding scale services through our graduate intern program, adjusting costs based on your financial situation. Contact us for more information or to discuss your needs.

  • Are therapy services virtual or in-person?

Most sessions are conducted virtually, as we are primarily a telehealth private practice. You’ll meet with your therapist through a secure platform using a unique link for your video sessions. We also offer limited in-person availability for those who prefer, providing additional flexibility.

  • What happens in the first therapy session?

The first session is all about determining your needs and whether you and your therapist are a good fit. You’ll discuss your reasons for therapy, current challenges, past experiences, and goals. Your therapist will explain their approach, and you’ll have the chance to ask questions or share preferences for moving forward.
